Paper in Pink

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month draws to a close - thought I'd salute with a nod to the paper fabulous- toilet paper fabulous that is!

A very cool fashion show was presented in September by Cananda's leading TP manufacturer- Cashmere- a show of fashion designs created by- you guessed it- good ol' papier de toilette! Here's what they say about the event:

"Fifteen top fashion designers from across Canada graced the runway with their vision of a future without breast cancer at the Sixth Annual White Cashmere Collection 2009: Fashion with Compassion in Toronto on September 23.

A unique celebration of style with substance, the world-leading White Cashmere Collection is crafted entirely in 100% pure, soft and luxurious sheets of Cashmere Bathroom Tissue, Canada’s best-selling brand. The Cashmere BT (bathroom tissue) Couture collection also heralds the return of limited-edition Pink Cashmere, a fund- and awareness-raiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, with twenty-five cents from the sale of every package of Pink going directly to the Foundation."

To see the entire collection and read the designer bios visit the Couture White Cashmere Collection site. And next time you make a TP purchase- stock up and consider the possibilities...
what a great way to boost your recession wardrobe!! ;-)

Short North Wedding Walk Makes a Fab Debut

Romance was in the air last night at the debut of the Short North Walk. What a fun event! And quite the successful launch... a great turn out of brides-to-be accompanied by mom's, maids and men!

Seven of Columbus' top wedding vendors participated in what will become an ongoing event and a perfect venue to introduce brides to all of the creative talent nestled in this fabulous neighborhood. Shops featuring couture gowns to couture paper, event planning, photo artistry, a rockin' registry, floral delights and cupcake delectables were visited by 30+ brides as well as fellow wedding professionals, to hear a casual presentation of specialties and services.

The evening began at On Paper with an intro to the event and a nod to just how thrilled we are that after thirteen years as the Short North wedding veteran, the hood now boasts home to some of the city's finest talent. We then split into two groups and began a progressive tour of venues. About 15 minutes at each spot whet the appetites of brides and the exciting time ahead- how fun to plan a wedding! The festivities concluded with goodie bags and treats at our newest, soon to be neighbor- Bakery Gingham.

Cheers to all the participants and and attendees, and stay tuned for the next event- there's certainly lots more to come.

Visit shortnorthwedding walk.com for detailed info about each of the seven vendors and for the soon to be posted schedule of events.

Musical Ideas

If you are looking for a wedding theme that marches to a different tune... check out this inspiration board from the Style Me Pretty blog...

Musical Notes

You can use our imported Italian musical notes gift wrap to create these ideas, many of which require only a basic level of craftiness. For other adaptations if musical notes aren't exactly on key- try our handwriting wrap for a nostalgic look, our Leonardo architecture and traditional florentine wrap would also make a great statement.

Thanks for the i(dea) tunes Kristine!
