New to the Shop: Christina Stankard Jewelry

Last week brought some delicate yet stunning new jewelry to the shop. Incorporating pearls, sapphires and chalcedony, Christina Stankard creates bright earrings and luminous necklaces. All pieces are handmade in her Brooklyn studio -- we imagine it must be filled with natural light, to inspire such ethereal pieces. To see a gallery of her work, check out her website. To adorn yourself with these gorgeous pieces, stop by the shop! I think any one of these pieces would be especially lovely as wedding jewelry....

But I can't promise I won't claim one of these for myself, wedding or no. Hurry in, Columbus brides -- you've been warned!

New Jewelry in the Shop!

We hope you're as hypnotized and delighted by these pieces as we are! They're as strange, beautiful and exhilarating as this absurd weather we've been having -- and what better way to welcome spring and summer than with bright jewelry that celebrates nature's bounty?

Caroline Gardner Cards

Reaping the benefits of the Stationery Show! Today's arrival: cards from one of my all time favorite card artists- Caroline Gardner.

Her style is the perfect blend of sophisticated, cute, bubbly, serene and her great typography and sketchy imagery is skilled and artistically executed.

This British artist has a unique style that is often imitated, but never duplicated. We have carried her photo albums in the past and now her cards remain a top seller.

Most of the cards incorporate multiple press runs; 4 color printing, engraving and embossing.
A great recession booster, prices have come down over the years and at $5.50 it's a far spread from the $7.00 years ago.

Pop by and stock up!

Really tried to focus on expanding the assortment of fashion accessories that are gaining popularity - so lots of super cool scarves (!), headbands (!), rings, weekend bags, baubles and bling!!
So excited to have stumbled upon my absolute favorite headbands, which I purchased in abundance!

Great bags for summer (hard to remember that summer even exists in this sub zero weather!) and those long weekends away

Lovely necklaces and earrings fashioned from vintage buttons

Now the really hard part... can't wait till everything arrives!

Smokey Quartz

This season we're in luv with smokey quartz. The color of smoky quartz varies from brown to black and we have some great earrings and necklaces that really show off the earthy beauty of the stones.

Here it's combined with citrine another variety of quartz that actually often gets it's juicy color from heat treating amethyst. How it goes from deep purple to this incredible orange is nothing shy of amazing.

This necklace sets off the organic shapes of the stones in a super dramatic necklace that combines with multi colored chains for a really great look= perfect for holiday parties.

This pendant combines smokey quartz that is facet cut and integrated with intricately sculpted wire. One of my faves- a great contrast of elegant, arty and modern- all twisted into one great look.

Oh la la! So French-

So very pleased to introduce these newest lovelies by artist Jodi French. Jodi and I worked together in our Limited days. She is now a mom and artist living in New Hampshire we have recently reacquainted - thnku Facebook. Jodi's work encompasses a vintage elegance we are so fond of here at On Paper. I think these wearable (VERY wearable) fiber florals are just perfect!

Bracelet cuff- really unique piece flowers are stitched to a rustic linen fabric- a great contrast that simply works- so original and the colors are perfect together.

Satin fabric, vintage beads, burnished edges are some of the delicate details that define the work.

This one is brooch- ultra suede for a much more rustic, everyday look.
Pearl beads, crochet center- LUV!

My fave of the collection- this can be worn day, night, formal black-tie,
w/jeans and everything in between.
A stunning combo of textures and dimensions.

A divine accessory- wear as a belt, headband wrap, necklace of any length-
Did someone say holiday par-tay!!?
.....

Thanks Jodi- I love having them at On Paper!

Floral Craze continued...!

Well- if you don't get the idea by now that floral lovelies are all the rage...

These are fab hair clips are again handmade, this time by a New Mexico design studio. Using vintage linen fabric and hand detailed center bits and bobs these are SO great clipped into a ponytail, or, oh the cuteness of a side clip! And for the more creative types... these would be so easy to embellish an invitation (see previous post 10/2), a gift wrap ribbon or even as an add-on for a handmade greeting card to serve double duty- greet and adorn.

Again- great price points- $8.00 for the flaxen linen and $10 for the white linen.
