DIY Neon and Glitter Glassware with Guest Blogger Sommer Renaldo

Formal Introductions: My name is Sommer Renaldo. I am a Graphic Designer, Event Creator, novice photographer, wife and mother.  Check out: www.labelbrand.com.

I've lived in Columbus for the last 7 years and I found On Paper immediately! I always need a great card shop, since I am a committed letter-writer. On Paper is one of my favorite spots to peruse, read: they know me well! The On Paper gals were nice enough to invite me to guest blog. This is the first of my posts.

Happiest Hour

Getting time in with my favorite ladies has always been a priority. Since becoming a Mom I still struggle with finding free time, but today I had a friend drop by my office for a little quality time. Thematically speaking I wanted to create a festive hour with my girlfriend. Enter Emporium glass glitter from On Paper, 2 glasses from the thrift store, a little booze and 15 minutes of my time.

Glassware
Glitter- I used glass glitter from On Paper. This is serious glitter, chunky and super sparkly!
Spray paint
Glue
Painter tape
Scrap paper

I used painter tape and a sheet of scrap paper to keep the paint where I wanted it. I lined up my bottle and glasses and just rolled them on the painter tape to create a straight(ish) line.

Then I took those babies outside and gave them a thorough spraying. Bonus: the paper actually held them upright while I did this. After the paint was dry I brought them back inside and added glue and glitter. Voila, ready for a kaffir lime and vodka tonic, and a friend.

Let's be honest, though they took the hand washing alright, these are probably disposable, and that's okay. Still so worth it. Cheers!
